Fall Flower and Garden Fest

Photos by Beth Wynn

The 39th annual Fall Flower & Garden Fest was held in late October 2017 at the Truck Crops Experiment Station in Crystal Springs. Approximately 5,000 visitors came to the largest home gardening and horticulture show in the Southeast.

Vegetables, herbs, flowers, and trees were available for purchase, and acres of trial gardens were open to showcase varieties. Mississippi State University Extension Service experts, including specialists and agents, delivered presentations, led tours, and answered questions. Many topics were covered, such as pond management, shade gardening, butterfly gardens, specialty crops, flower gardening, backyard wildlife habitats, and pest, disease, and weed management.

Extension and the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station sponsor the fest each year.
