Expert floral designer to give March lecture
BILOXI, Miss. -- Gardening and floral design enthusiasts and professionals can enjoy a public lecture by Martha Whitney Butler, a Bay St. Louis floral designer.
The lecture is on March 21 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Mississippi State University Coastal Research and Extension Center in Biloxi. The center is located at 1815 Popps Ferry Road.
Butler will deliver a floral design demonstration that includes techniques based on sustainable floral design practices, as well as her experience in art history and the use of antique and vintage floral containers.

Butler owns and operates The French Potager, a florist and gift shop in the Old Town district of Bay St. Louis. She is a certified floral designer. In July, she will be inducted into the American Institute of Floral Designers, the most prestigious floral art certification program in the U.S.
