Farm Bill discussions set around Mississippi
MISSISSIPPI STATE -- The changes brought by the new Farm Bill will be the subject of four informational meetings held around the state the week of June 17.
Mississippi State University's Department of Agricultural Economics, Mississippi Farm Bureau and the Mississippi Natural Resource Conservation Service are sponsoring the informational meetings. Each will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The first meeting will be held June 17 in Tunica at the Tunica County Economic Development Building. On June 18, the Delta Research and Extension Center in Stoneville will host the second meeting, and the North Mississippi Research and Extension Center in Verona will offer the third meeting June 19. The last meeting will be held at the Central Mississippi Research and Extension Center in Raymond June 20.
Each session will offer an overview of the current Farm Bill provisions, sessions on base updating and payment programs, and a discussion of conservation programs. There is not cost to attend these meetings.
