Nov. 4 agronomy meeting offers continuing education
STARKVILLE, Miss. -- The Mississippi Chapter of the American Society of Agronomy has planned a day full of educational seminars for its annual meeting Nov. 4 at the Grenada County Extension office.
Experts from the Mississippi State University Extension Service and the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station will join other scientists in sharing the latest information about a wide range of crop-related subjects.
Topics include soil health, precision technologies, wild hogs, the effect of deer browsing on soybean production, grain moisture management for harvest, managing nitrogen in corn production and nematode practices in sweet potatoes.
Anyone interested in crop production is encouraged to attend.
The $40 advance registration fee, which includes meals, membership dues and meeting registration, is due by Oct. 28. Registration for fully retired members is $10. Registration at the door is $60. The registration form and full agenda are online at MSUcares.com.
Participants can receive in-service training credit, continuing education units, and recertification credits for Category X and Category 1A, and pest management consultant license renewal in the weed control category.
