MSU clinic tackles barrel racing skills
STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Horse owners with a "need for speed" can work on the fundamentals of barrel racing at an upcoming clinic at Mississippi State University.
The MSU Extension Service is hosting the clinic from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. May 27 at the MSU Horse Unit on the Henry H. Leveck Research Farm, often referred to as South Farm.
The primary clinician is Caleigh Greene, a National Barrel Horse Association world qualifier. Topics to be covered include control and guiding, horsemanship for improved communication, how to make horses suppler, benefits of proper leads, approaches for responsive barrel turns and general troubleshooting.
The clinic fee is $50, with or without a horse. Lunch will be provided.
