MSU schedules forage field day
NEWTON, Miss. -- An afternoon field day will help livestock producers learn about the latest research related to forage production.
The Mississippi State University Extension Service and Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station are hosting the Coastal Plain Forage Production Field Day April 5. The free workshop will be held at the Coastal Plain Branch Experiment Station in Newton.
Topics for this year’s workshop include alfalfa research, forage economics, early-season weed control, fescue in the Coastal Plain and native warm-season grass grazing.
The field day begins at 2 p.m. with a tour of the fields at the experiment station. A catered catfish dinner will be provided.
The experiment station is located at 51 Coastal Plain Road in Newton. The registration deadline is March 29. To register, contact Jenna Mosley at 601-683-2084 or jlt205@msstate.edu
