Does Oriental eggplant out produce American?

Neither produces more. Oriental or Japanese eggplant produce many long, slender eggplant in a short period of time. American, or round eggplant, produce fewer, larger eggplant during a longer period of time. At season's end, the two tend to produce the same tonnage per acre. Grow the type of eggplant your market demands.
