Cooking Matters for Adults

Cooking Matters for Adults is a hands-on course that will empower adults with the skills to be self-sufficient in the kitchen.

Target Audience(s):

Limited-resource parents and caregivers of children ages 0 to 5

Objectives:

Participants will:

  • Learn how to stretch their food budgets,
  • Learn how to prepare healthy meals so their children get nutritious food at home, and
  • Demonstrate fundamental food preparation skills, including proper knife techniques, reading ingredient labels, using different forms of fruits and vegetables, and making a healthy meal for a family of four on a $10 budget.

Total Number of Modules or Sessions: 6

Total Number of Hours for Program Delivery: 12
