Aligning the Junior Master Wellness Volunteer Program to the Educational Standards for Career and Technology Education

Mississippi State University Extension offers the Junior Master Wellness Volunteer (JMWV) program statewide. It is an educational enhancement to various secondary courses, including family and consumer science, contemporary health, and CTE health science programs. Program development specialists have collaborated with the Research and Curriculum Unit at Mississippi State University to align the JMWV program to current state curricula. The Junior Master Wellness Volunteer program connects CTE and general secondary education teachers and MSU Extension agents. This collaboration provides educational and community outreach opportunities for teens interested in creating a culture of wellness in their communities. The following tables align the current state curriculum and the JMWV program.
